Did you know every 1 gram of carbohydrate stored by your body requires 3-4 grams of water with it?
Likewise, every gram you burn off gets rid of 3-4 grams of water in the process.
It’s the reason a zero carb diet for a week or two will drop kilos like crazy. That means no bread, fruit, rice, pasta, baked foods, sugar etc.
So if you lose 1 kg of stored carbs you will also shed up to 4 kg of water… 5 kg total weight loss in a matter of days sounds desirable for many right?
But as soon as you eat some carb-rich foods, your body will gladly store them straight away. And that means the 4 kg of water weight comes back too. Fast.
Elite boxers and bodybuilders are all over this “water-weight” system before competition.
So that’s how some people can lose weight ridiculously fast, but don’t expect it to last more than a week or two.
Remember that lasting weight loss takes a lot more time than that, but is a lot more meaningful and worthwhile.
